Jason A. Matt: If you’re injured in an accident, you can certainly use your health insurance to pay for your medical treatment. However, if you’re injured on the job, it’s your employer’s obligation to do so. Your employer’s workers’ compensation insurance company would be the proper insurance to pay for your medical treatment.
If you’re injured by the fault of someone else, it is their obligation to do so. If your health insurance pays and it’s somebody else’s fault, they will likely be entitled to be reimbursed through a segregation of reimbursement provision in your insurance policy. At Matt & Allen, we’ll handle all these issues for you, and make sure that you recover the maximum amount available.
