Look alive, folks, because Downtown Alive! is back and better than ever this year.
This free event offers a great line-up of bands—both up-and-coming and Grammy winners—playing a variety of genres, from indie rock to Zydeco. The event also features a wide selection of food and beverages.
Some of the bands that are set to play include:
- Bonsoir, Catin with Gasoline Lollipops
- Lil’ Band O’ Gold
- Beausoleil avec Michael Doucet
- The Molly Ringwalds
- Rockin’ Dopsie Jr. & the Zydeco Twisters
- Chubby Carrier & the Bayou Swamp Band
The Downtown Alive season kicks off on Sept. 5 with The Chee-Weez, then continues through Oct. 24. (The only day that Downtown Alive! Will not occur is October 10 because of the Festival Acadiens.) The event will occur every Friday, with concessions beginning at 5:30 p.m. and music at 6 p.m.
Come celebrate the musical talent of Lafayette at Downtown Alive! This event has been going thirty years, and it shows no signs of slowing down. Every year has only gotten better!
